Meeting with Jo Smith from the BLack Horse Pub

Back at the and of April Myself and Caz Philpot and Sheila Philpot got together with Jo Smith for a conversation about the summer event we hope to hold and working more closely together with the pub to promote the pub and the club in the future. it was really encouraging to see how Jo and the team saw value in the relationship with the ballooning club and she was keen to feature the balloons more prominantly in the pub. so here are the highlights of the discussion.

 

• We will try to arrange for a fly out once a month from the pub field. It would help the pub if they could predict when we will be flying out as they are constantly being asked by the public when the balloons will be flying. So we have agreed that we wil aim to make the fly out the last weekend of the month every month.

 

• The plan to have a party and a flyout on the longest day of the year was well received although there are some logistical challenges which we are working around. Caz Philpot is going to manage the logistics of the event.

 

• Jo would like to put some more interesting pictires of balloons up in the pub especially pictures with balloons and the pub in them.

 

• We also discussed the possibility of putting  a storey about how the pilots flying from the pub got into ballooning on the back of the menus which are placed on the tables ion the pub.
